Warm Feet, Warm Winter

January has been freezing cold here in Finland. Today the temperature is nearly -30 degrees in the Southern Finland. Cold weather demands for warm clothes and shoes. I have a few winter jackets but unfortunately none of them are made in Finland. I have decided that my next winter jacket is made in my home country. I don't necessarily need a new jacket at the moment but what I really need is a new pair of winter shoes. 

I dreamed about the Finnish Felt Boots by Lahtiset company already last winter. Would it be now the right time to buy one pair for me? 

The felt boots are handmade in Finland from wool. The boots have rubber sole which gives the boots a good grip on snow and ice. These boots would be the perfect shoes for winter at least here in the North part of the World. The Warm feet give the feeling of the warm winter.

Tammikuu on alkanut jäätävän kylmänä. Meillä on ollut tänään eteläisessä Suomessa lähes -30 astetta pakkasta. Kylmät kelit vaativat lämpimät vaatteet ja kengät. Minulla on muutama talvitakki, mutta valitettavasti yksikään niistä ei ole valmistettu Suomessa. Kun tulee aihetta hankkia uusi talvitakki, ostan sen ehdottomasti kotimaisena. 

Talvitakki tilanteeni on siis hyvä, mutta tarvitsisin ehdottomasti uudet lämpimät talvikengät. Haaveilin jo viime talvena huopikkaista, olisiko nyt vihdoin oikea aika hankkia sellaiset? 

Huopikkaita valmistaa esimerkiksi Lahtiset. Lahtiset huopikkaat valmistetaan käsityönä Suomessa villasta. Huopikkaiden kumipohjalliset ovat pitävä pohja lumella ja jäällä. Nämä olisivat täydelliset kengät talvella ainakin täällä pohjoisella pallonpuoliskolla. Lämpimät jalat tekevät kylmästä talvesta vähän lämpimämmän.
